Into every life . . .
a little rain must fall. I think that's how the saying goes. Well almost a year ago to the day from last year's horrible storm (the one where Dean and I were up all night physically bailing water out of our basement since the sump pump went out) we had another downpour. Fortunately we didn't lose power, nor was there any flooding in the house (we were prepared with a back up pump and a generator though). Unfortunately the backyard did flood. Miraculously, this was all dried up about 18 hours later! But here is a first hand look at Lake Stoeber.

update
It's been awhile since we've done an update. Can't say we've been busy, more like we haven't really had anything new or exciting to report. Ryan will be 8 months old on 6/11! He is somewhat close to crawling. At times he can get his bum in the air, but he puts his head down to do so. He hasn't quite figured out how to work his arms and legs right yet. But one of his new favorite hobbies is holding our fingers and walking around our house. We call it "toddling" so Gizmo doesn't get excited when we ask Ryan if he wants to toddle, since she knows what "walk" means.
Since posting the pool pictures, we've really only had a couple days warm enough (and without rain) to get back in the pool. A new activity we've been doing is walking up the street to the park. Here Ryan holds back the lively, ferocious Gizmo from attacking - yeah right!
Ryan loves the baby swing at the park. I think he's going to be adventerous, he doesn't even mind when I push him a little on the high side. It's funny because with the swing at home, he's started grabbing the side so he doesn't swing, but rather sits still. Yet when at the park, he's perfectly content swinging away.

Thursdays and Sundays are bath nights. Dean bathes Ryan while I usually fold and put away clothes or tidy up his toys. Here he is sportin' his duckie robe and slipper socks.

I couldn't pass up taking this picture of him sleeping while I'm at the grocery store. Boy was I jealous. Considering the supermarket is not one of my favorite places (though it seems like I'm there several times a week), I long for the day that I can sleep and get pushed around while someone else does the shopping.
